Cannot seem to get album art right! Ideas?

Hi Folks,

Maybe I'm a hopeless n00b, but I cannot seem to get album art working for all my albums.

I have attached a pic of what is going wrong.

Now, I previosly had all the art showing up in itunes - it was working just fine.

So, pretty much most of the folders contain the folder.jpg (and/or Albumart_<blah> stuff as well), on the initial import these seem to have shown up correctly.

For an example, let's take that "dominian" folder from the pic:

Initially it had that default pic as it's folder.jpg that (itunes I guess did it) is stuck in there, I can overwrite that pic's "folder.jpg" with the correct one, but even then it does not show up in mediaportal. If I browse down to the albums underneath, then the files themselves show the correct album art, but the folders do not.

Also this top level folder (is this from the create artist preview thumbs option?) continues to show the old art that I have overriden, even if I remove all the thumbs.db, add other folder.jpgs, embed the art in the mp3 tag, etc.

So how can I get these folders to update to show the right thing, now that I have changed my art? I click the rebuild database button in the config but it doesn't change anything.


Also, I am not clear on which settings override the others, and which pics are used to create the missing artist preview/dir art - is the folder.jpg or the embedded pic from the mp3 tag taking precedence.


Any input to help me out would be much appreciated.

1. Go to configuration -> general -> thumbs and delete the folder thumb cache.
2. Make sure that autocreation of missing folder thumbs is enabled there.
3. Go to music -> database check the settings there and rescan your shares.

Now all folder.jpg should show up nicely.

Thanks man, I thought it would be something simple.
I will try it when I get home tonight.

Can you tell me which has precedence for creating the album art in medaportal - folder.jpg or art embedded in the mp3 tag?
