Default MP Skips first track on CD

TV-Server Version: TVE3-actual SVN
MediaPortal Version: RC1 +actual SVN
MediaPortal Skin: XFACE
Windows Version: Win2003 Server+SP2, WindowsXP+SP3

H Guys found a serious problem

when I want to listen to a Audio CD it asks me if I want to play it

and then... it always skips the first track.. amazing thing.. it shows the title if available but is never playing the song

so e.g. on "journey- greatest hits live" the first song is "Don't Stop Believing"

it shows in now playing the title.. but plays song number 2--> Seperate Way...

and even when you are going through the whole CD it always skips the first track

I tested that with about 30 Audio CDs to be sure..

Please help...

the player, play now etc. shows the correct number of tracks.. a .. it is just not playing the first track

on e.g. the macericks maxi-cd it shows

track 1
track 2
track 3

but ..

if you press play on track 1 in MP it plays track 2 on the cd
if you press play on track 2 in MP it plays track 3 on the cd
and if you press play on shown track 3 in MP ... it does nothing..

very strange,...

Hi RobertinoM

Moved thread to Music support, just to let you know, cannot duplicate this, or see any setting in MP that would have this effect.

Hopefully hwahrmann or someone may have a idea why this is happening.

Default found the problem but no cool solution

Okay finally after playing around .. the BASS is the problem..

Using it .. it makes a wrong offset as described.. using the internal dshow player works like a charm..

reason? I don't know...

I am missing my fade overs... but at least I can listen to all songs on my Audio-CDs

Cheers Robertino

Hi all,

yesterday I installed the RC2 and I have the same strange behavior:
The next title after the selected title is played, but the selected title is marked in the list of titles and displayed on the external display. That means that when I selcet track 3, track 4 is played. When I select the last track, nothing is played. It's impossible to play track 1.

Switching to directshow might be a quick solution, but this is an error that must be fixed (that's my point of view :-)).

So what more information is needed, so that a developer can reproduce the situation?

Many thanks in advance!

Can't confirm. For me it is working ok.
Looked at the log that Daniel_1980 posted. Track01 was played 23 seconds, before Track02 started.
No sign at al that it was skipped and i don't see an error as well.

can anyone of u create an image of such a cd and upload it to a free file hoster?
PM me the link then and i'll have a look at the issue.

The log said track01 was played. But it wasn't. Track 2 was playing.
And why this "2008-07-25 18:01:10.031250 [Info.][MPMain]: BASS: Unable to create Stream for E:\Track10.cda. Reason: BASS_ERROR_CDTRACK."? This is where MP probably tried to play the non-existant track11.
