Default My music not finding all songs

I am running the svn from yesterday 8/10/06 and i have a problem with my music.

I have set up the shares in the config program to point at my music folder which should contain roughly 14000 songs. now when click the button to build the music database the system does not find all the music. when i go into the my music otpion in mp it reports 655 songs. is there any way to manually delete the database and rebuild from my selected shares?

You could delete the database from the database directory.
delete the file MusicDatabaseV7.db3.
Then start the rescan and post the Configuration.log to pastebin
update this thread with the link so that we can look at it.

yup still got 655 songs in mp.
the log shows a few errors and claims that some of the mp3's are corrupted but they play in media player classic. so any ideas?

ok, so we got a problem for around 430 songs, while the rest should have been processed correctly.
Those 430 songs seem not to have Tags inside or probably invalid tags.
Do you have a way to provide me 1 or 2 of them for analysing?
Also would be nice, if you could upload the Musicdatabase file itself

Jake m,

had a look at the files.
Well, from MP's point of view, everything is correct.

Both files don't contain any tag at all, so it is correct that MP reports that no files are found.
You should use a Tag Editor, like for example "The Godfather" to add Tags to the files and then they will be processed.

Now to your Database:
The Database has entries for 1688 artists, 3475 albums and 14814 songs.
So it looks like everything has been processed correctly and you should see all the songs, except the ones that were reported in Configuratipon.log.

regards

Helmut

I hate to admit that i was viewing the shares view which reported 655 songs, when i clicked on view->songs it then came up with 14814 songs which is what you say is in the database.

so before i hang my head in shame, what does the figure 655 relate to in the shares view? just in case i'm not being very clear heres a screen shot:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/dc218c/
perhaps this just needs an edit in the skin

Thanks for the effort, even though there wasnt actually a problem

that basically means that 655 songs are found at that directory level, not counting the files in the sub dirs.
