Hi all,

MyMusic, stepping forward / backward does not work.
I tried this with the buildin player, as well as with foobar2000. I only used .mp3 files for testing. I've searched this forum for a few days now, but nothing comes up about stepping in Music.

I peeked in the plugin code, and seeking is definately supported. I also tested seeking through the http interface of the foobar remote control plugin, this worked fine too.

I created 2 function keys in the setup (F11 and F12) that do a skip forward and skip backward, but nothing happens when i press them. The only thing that seems to work is fastforward with the buildin player, this does not work for foobar however.

Can anyone guide me to a solution, i can't imagine this is a bug.

Hi Marc,

his is indeed true.
In the version you are running it is only available when using WMP as the player. Support for the builtin player has been added after the release.
in the new release that is currently being tested, you should find a new audio engine, that will support fwd and back.

Thank you very much for this quick response, this is not only a great project, but this community is even better and helpfull than mediaportal itself.

May I ask if you know if stepping is/will be supported through external players?
Or will the internal player also support kernel streaming and gapless playing to achieve the same playback quality as foobar2000?

Marc,

gapless playback is available. Kernel streaming is not implemented yet, tough the bass enigine supports it.
i have it on my list, but don't know when it'll be done.

i didn't touch external players. so if fwd/bwd does not work with foobar currently, it'll not work with the new version as well.

On my side I have MP 2.1.0, I defined Step Forward and Step Backward actions, and use the built in engine, but it's doing nothing when I press the corresponding keys... Maybe I missed something in the config, what should be set ?
