Slow Browsing.

I´ve just started using MP and think its great exept the music browsing... I access my mp3s through a 100/100 lan and have aprox 1500albums (107gb) shared from another comp, and everytime a enter the mp3 dir mp freezes for about 30sec-1min. Is there any solution or workaround for this?

use the database views or do not put that much files into one folder - even the Windows explorer should suffer from that already.

Thanks for the URL. Unfortunately, I didn't find any information there on how to organize music for better performance.
I also examined http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/MediaPortalSetup_Music, but found the explanation of how to define views quite superficial. I still don't understand what all of the options do. Where can I find more information on how to set up views, which will deliver the results I want without too much delay?

After some further research, I see that you, Idioteque, have already picked up on the need to amplify somewhat in the Wiki, and have found the additional information in http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ex...ighlight=views. If you come across more information in your quest to improve the Wiki, please post a reference to it (or to the Wiki, if you have already updated it) here.
