| This isn't so much a bug or anything, but I was wondering if anyone ran into the same situation. With some of my artists I have all of their singles, so when looking at album view you see 20 "albums" only 5 of them are real "albums." I have all "real" albums in their own "albums" folder under the artist, and the id3tags also mark them as albums (media portal doesn't read this tag though). I thought about using my tag editor to automatically add a ":" before each album, as that would be listed first alphabetically ... but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas. Just something to identify or filter the real albums from singles, eps, etc. Thanks for all of the help. | There's a special id3 field that my program uses (Helium Music Manager) to specify if the "Album" is an album, single, ep, live performance, bootleg, etc. Most other programs don't use that, and when I have an artist that has a lot of singles, someone will have to sift through a bunch of these to try to find the real albums. I can't think of anyway to make these particular albums show up first. If I ran a script to add i.e. a colon before each album that is actually an album, those would be listed first, but that is not ideal at all. There might not be a solution, but I would love to hear any input... Nick |

| I'm not sure exactly what the frame name is, I e-mailed the guys at helium-music-manager to find out specifically, maybe it is just exclusive to helium? I'll upload one of my files when I get home from school this weekend, don't have access to them now. I came across something else that might be of interest, the "Album Sort Order." Is there a way that I can use that to determine the order the albums show up, or is that not the appropriate use. Also, is it possible to manually edit the music database? I have lectures from the teaching company that I like to browse just as music, but of course automatic lookups do not return results. Is there a way that I can manually add "album review" (more of a lecture summary) to the database, or is this not possible? Thanks for all of the help, I am much appreciative. |
