AC3 plays as PCM

I have my output through SPDIF. When I play an avi with AC3 using windows media player 11, I get 3/2/1 (AC3) on my receiver. If I play the same file using MP the sound is PCM. What is wrong.

I went into MP setup, but have no idea where to enable/disable anything to get it right.

I saw that I can add filters in the Video Post-processing. SHould I add AC3Filter? And if so how do I configure AC3Filter then. On the main tab of AC3Filter, what should be the output ? I have SPDIF set to on there. But the output ?, 'AS IS'?, '3/2+SW 5.1channel'?. And what does the bit setting do 16,24? On the System tab in AC3Filter, I have SPDIF passthrough on for AC3, MPEGaudio and DTS. But what about the setting in front of it, should I set 'Use AC3Filter for...' on for AC3?, DTS?,PCM?

Is it the AC3Filter setup anyway?

Installing the latest ffdshow fixed it
