Default Blurry Picture using MP Internal Player

Hi there I have recently gone back to using the internal player as I have a MCE remote to control my MP now.

I previously used Zoom and every file is perfect when played back. However with the Internal MP player it is blurry, and looks somewhat cartooned. (Picture attached gives you an idea- converting from bmp to jpg has made it slightly worse, but you get the idea)

I use ffdshow video decoder for both MPEG 2 and x264.

I've tried uninstalling the CCCP codecs and re-installing. And have also tried looking for any broken codecs using a program called Codec Sniper.

Any help on this particularily annoying issue is GREAT. If I've missed anything out, just let me know.

Thanks in advance guys

FFDShow is not a good mpeg2 codec, try downloading the trial of PowerDVD8 and select that for mpeg2 video (i still use ffdshow for audio).

Okay I've tried that and it attempts to play the file and then acts as if there's no codec that can play it.

Any other suggestions anyone?

Thanks so far
