Country: | You need to use a "commercial" video decoder that supports DxVA (hardware acceleration) for MPEG2 and H.264 - for example the CyberLink decoders. Most (if not all) of the "open source" video decoders do not use or support hardware acceleration - decoders like MPV, Descaler, ffdshow, CoreAVC, etc... HTH? (BTW, this post was in the incorrect section - "Tips and Tricks" is for known working tips - not for support queries) |

| I'm using the PowerDVD 7.3 DirectShow filter to decode my x264 videos, I have checked "Use DxVA". Still I have >50% CPU utilization on my Athlon 4200+. I have a GeForce 8600GS and the nvidia driver 169.xx (dunno the correct version). What's wrong with it? |
