Menu Blank but still active?

When I watch some of my movies in my videos I get a blank menu screen. The screen is still active I can click around until I click on something and it will show the next screen and the main menu will usually appear when I go back. Just not on the first run. I have tried with different skins mainly, monochrome, purevision.
