my video only showing slits

I am trying to play some divx movies on my mediaportal box. This is a new installation and I don't know what the problem is. When I play divx files audio is fine all that is shown is a slit of video on the screen. When I play the same video through windows media player it shows fine. I am using the codec from xvid.org. Any suggestions?

Check ZOOM mode under video is set to normal.

Otherwise try using FFDShow Tryouts, as that is excellent at playing xvid\divx files anyway (and more).

Do you mean aspect ratio when you say zoom? If so mine is set to normal.
