What do you think rtv? We have "DVDFullscreen: Play DVD", but we never get "GUIVideoBaseWindow: playing DVD".

Code:

Log.Info("DVDFullscreen: Play DVD");
GUIVideoFiles videoFiles = (GUIVideoFiles)GUIWindowManager.GetWindow((int)GUIWindow.Window.WINDOW_VIDEOS);
if (null == videoFiles)
  return false;
return videoFiles.OnPlayDVD(dvd);
First thing inside OnPlayDVD is
Code:
Log.Info("GUIVideoBaseWindow: playing DVD {0}", drive);
Could it be GetWindow that returns null?

Yup, quite similar to the first patch which was submitted. Unfortunately I've got no DVDs at work

I do have DVDs, but I am unable to recreate the bug. I have rewritten the code a bit anyway, because it isn't nice to call a public method in a window class like that. Now uses the GlobalServiceProvider instead. Perhaps it will solve the issue. Should be in the next SVN build

Thanx! for the quick response. I have installed and tested SVN 1/25/2007 20-10 Rev 12747. I have tested several DVDs and so far they are all playing automatically and by manually pressing "Play DVD", except for X-men 3. It displays a FOX entertainment backround with "This DVD is not formatted to play in this region". Which is quite strange as it played fine (automatically) before I applied the above metioned SVN. It does however play fine in WMP..... Any more ideas to fix this completley? THANX!!

That sounds really weird... Do you now if the movie is for another region? If so, what software are you using to make your comp region free? Might want to check out this thread too. MP region free?

The DVD is region 1 and the DVD drive is set to region 1 as well. I really think is has something to do with the recent changes made or at least MP. As it plays just fine with WMP and was playing fine before I installed the "new" SVN.

I have restored back to an SVN on 1_23_07 20-10 Rev 12716. Now all DVDS play, even X-men 3. However none of them will play when selecting "Play DVD"........
