Default Playing .MOV files

I can’t seem to get .Mov files to play in My Video. Windows media files seem to work. The .mov extension is listed in the setup.
Thanks

No, its not the same thing - I think you will find that you need QuickTime Alternative installed to allow MediaPortal to play .mov files.

Don't you need to install quicktime first - so the filters/codecs etc. are installed on the machine, and THEN install quicktime alternative so those filters can be used in media player?

I didn't think so - it is my understanding that only QuickTime Alternative needs to be installed. I am happy to be corrected, though ...

You're right Taipan, only QT alt is needed.

I installed QT Alternative and my *.MOV files will still not play. What am I doing wrong with setting in MP? I have tried everything it seems. I can play the files in the QTalt player separately, but nothing in MP.
