Problem Playing MKV files

Hi I am having trouble playing MKV files, what happens is that i click on the file and then a black screen appears, then media portal minimizes and i see the desktop then resizes itself back to full screen and nothing else happens, Can someone please help me out with this thank you

do u have the right codecs installed? and also, haali media spliter and vsfilter? take a llok at this also: http://users.vic.chariot.net.au/~mit...e%20v%20.2.pdf
