Question Problems with iso playback

Hi

I am using V1.0.0.0 RC1 and I have discovered something a bit strange regarding iso handling.

- If you add .iso to the list of movie extensions the iso file will be handled as a normal movie - if you browse by shares. If you browse by Title, Media Portal will treat the iso file as a DVD and try to mount it. Can this be changed? I would like to be able to browse by title and get Media Portal to treat the iso files as normal movies (like .avi files).

- If you enable auto mount with daemon tools and try to update the movie database, it will mount all iso files. This results in a lot of unrecognized movie titles. I just get a path to a vob file on my virtual drive. Can i do something about this?

Thank you for a great app!

And thanks for any help! :-)

I am just posting here because I was searching for these exact issues, and instead of starting a new thread, I would like to second this thread.

And I'd like to be the third. Is it possible that *.Isos appear in the shares view just like normal .avi-files. I wan't to have covers on all my movies, but for *.isos it doesn`t seem to work >.<

Because the scan does not work for multiple iso files I have taken the brute force approach and added each iso to the database (Movie Database - Editor - New) and then added the path to the iso using the Editor Files tab. If you add iso to the list of Movie Extension then you are all set. It's a pain to add the iso's individually like this but better than nothing.

However I'd love to see the database scan work properly with mutipel iso's and DaemonTools.

I did the same, but this doesn't solve the problem for me, because i've still got no proper cover art in the shares-view. I just see the usual cover for files, but not the movie cover

You will probably have to search the IMDB for each individual movie. I could not do a scan on mine as well, so I went to shares view, did an IMDB search on each... on some I had to type the movie name in manually. The movie was automatically added to my database after I selected the appropriate movie and to then select the cover. Now I get movie covers in the different views as well.

good luck

Okay, I think I figured a bit of a ghetto way around the issue. Basically I just turn off daemon tools, tell media portal configuation not to auto-open daemon tools, click okay, reopen media portal configuration, then do the scan. It should now scan without mounting each iso. After that, I just go turn everything back on. Its kinda a pain to just add one movie, but if you are adding 20, then its not too horrible.

Hey, Psycho's idea works fine, but i still can't see those covers. I only see them when I turn off auto-mounting with Daemon Tools and this is stupid, because if the files don't get mounted I don't need to see the covers.

Hi

Have you seen MediaSlayer topic on plugins section. You can get there patch files for that iso handling (and compiled dlls for 0.2.3.0+SVN). That was so annoying for me that I made those changes.
