Seeking problems

I have a problem with seeking in videos (using the left and right arrow keys). It will only work on videos when i bring it into focus (on top) by clicking on the video. Then everything works perfectly. Is there a setting I have overlooked or even a separate window in the Media portal's programing like in VLC in full screen which I can program Girder to respond to? Has anyone experienced this? There have been several times updates fix it and sometimes the same update produces this again. I can't tie the problem to any one source.

I use a remote via girder but i have tested it with the keyboard and the remote. It appears to be a problem with which window is focused from my limited knowledge. Any ideas would help.

Small update: I don't know if this changes anything but I toggled the "keep Media portal on top" and it seemed to fix the problem. I turned if off and it remained working. I know this fixes my problem but it has been an on going problem and may need to be looked into if others have had this problem.
