Nice. My system is around 80-90% a lot too. I may get a dropped frame here and there, but you would be hard pressed to notice.

It's long in the tooth, but it still works, so I can't justify replacing it yet.

Something which also improves things sometimes is installing the latest DirectX release from MS.

I found that windows mediaplayer 11 was only using 1 core of my C2D laptop with FFDSHOW/X264 and maxing out / stuttering. mediaplayer classic was using both and working just fine.

You can't accelerate mkv files, There is a bug with hardware decoding and the haali splitter. So coreavc is your best bet. The ati or nvidia cards will do the 20fps bug with any mkv file. Any other vid formats should work with hardware decoding.
