Default Some video files do not play...

Hey all,

I'm using the latest stable release of MP, and I'm having a small issue with the built in video player. Some of my MKV files just don't play! I've tried swapping the codec around, but to no avail. The files play perfectly fine in WMP, VLC, MPC, and even in MCE2005's inbuilt player, but no luck on MP's! I'd say 75% of my MKV files play fine, but those ones that don't are kind of annoying. Any ideas?

Tutorial: Playing .mkv-Files

See if anything usefull there, also see goose's simple codec guide found here

ps. there are a lot of other things that have been found to cause video playback failure, from drivers through to using 120dpi as fontsize settings.

in Haali mediasplitter settings, set load vsfilter to "yes"

See if that helps.
