fixed SVN 13521: Xvids in fullscreen mode won't play... [fixed as of 13688]

MediaPortal Version: 0.2.2 SVN Rev13521 (MP, MPTV0.3, MPTV Plugin)
MediaPortal Skin: Blue
Windows Version: MCE 2005 SP2 32bit
CPU Type: Core 2 Duo 6600
HDD: Samsung 160GB SATA2
Memory: 2Gig
Motherboard:
1. TV Card: Pinnacle Dual Hybrid PCI-E

Hi Guys, sorry, didn't find the quality assurance forum and neither did find anything containing "xvid" in the bugtracker, so just posting here. For some time now releasers have been encoding their shows with xvid 1.2 and I don't seem to be able to play 'em in "normal" ="fullscreen" mode. Every other zoom mode works perfectly well (even the "source format" setting) , just the normal fullscreen setting will give me a blank black screen (while audio's ok and playing).

I already installed various codecs, had ffd-show decode my xvids (for instance 24 6x10 and following) - nothing helped. When playing the files with wmp9 they work just fine in fullscreen. If you need logfiles for tracking this issue, please let me know.

Thanks, Seven

EDIT: Works in SVN 13688. THANKS

Hello McSeven,

same problem here. Strangest thing is, that when you pause the movie and change zoom mode to "Normal" it will show the still picture perfectly well and you can continue to watch the video from here in "Normal" zoom mode.

Hope that helps as a work around.

Cheers

Rogue

Same here. I'll take a look, but I'm busy, and this isn't going to be easy. I would suggest encoding your video in divx or wmv until we get this straightened out. Most likely, it is on their end.

Start Fullscreen in another zoom mode e.g. stretch, then pause and switch to normal.

Hi RogueSquadron,

tried, but everytime I switch to normal the screen goes black. No matter if I had switched to another zoom mode before, even from the beginning. And oddly enough, it works in wmp9, both times with the newest ffdshow. I know that it is decoded by ffdshow, because a) no other xvid codec has been installed and b) I had ffdshow display its OSD with input bitrate in the upper left corner... Anyway thanks for your help Seven

sorry, cannot confirm that. 24 and BSG 3rd season E11+ play just fine in 718 (I use ffdshow to decode video and audio). Make sure you remove the xvid codec. And make sure in MP configuration that ffdshow is selected as the codec for movies (I myself use it for every media content, works perfectly). Hope that helps. Seven
