Country: | MediaPortal Version: SVN MediaPortal Skin: Blue? Windows Version: XP SP2 CPU Type: AMD HDD: Several different types Memory: 2GB Motherboard: ASUS MPEG2 Video Codec: FFDSHOW & AC3Filter MPEG2 Audio Codec: FFDSHOW & AC3Filter When I click on an ISO file I get a question asking if I want to mount the file. I answer yes and then the file explore pops up showing the content of the ISO file. A good sign that daemon tools does what it should, even if the file explorer step is a bit annoying. If I then go back to MediaPortal and open the mounted drive, in my case H: and then choose to view any of the VOB files I get the following error in the log: 2007-02-24 07:57:35.825875 [ERROR][MPMain]: DVDPlayer:Unable to set window owner 0x80040209 2007-02-24 07:57:35.825875 [ERROR][MPMain]: DVDPlayer:Unable to set options() 2007-02-24 07:57:35.950875 [ERROR][MPMain]: PlaylistPlayer: *** unable to play - H:\VTS_01_1.VOB - skipping track! What can I do about this? |

| To get rid of any Daemon tools prompts, disable 'secure mode' in DT. To get rid of any Explorer prompts or windows, disable Windows autoplay for the virtual drive. As for the latter part of your problem: Is this an ISO of a data disc with VOBs 'burned' on it? MediaPortal (in my experience) isn't all that happy playing standalone VOB files (without calling an external player). If it's a standard DVD, then playing it from My Movies or Play DVD (in the Home Menu) should work just fine. Can you play DVDs at all? Also, you should try another DVD codec. As FFDshow does not include a CSS decoder, it can't handle standard encrypted DVDs by itself. To handle DVDs with FFDshow doing the video decoding, you need to have a CSS decoder such as AnyDVD or DVD43 installed. FFDshow will then be usable as DVDs now appear to be 'plain' mpeg2. While this 'works', ffdshow DVD support is still experimental at best, doesn't handle subtitles, and won't display interactive menus correctly. Last edited by Gaukaren; 2007-02-25 at 05:16. |

Country: | Thank you very much for your answer. I will install a better DVD decoder, can you recommend someone? Unfortunately I'm getting some really bad behavior when using VLC. (System freezes when movie is done playing, suggestions?) and I just tried CyberLink but it hanged the system on startup. |
