| MediaPortal Version: 0.2.2.0 MediaPortal Skin: blue.. something.. (the default one) Windows Version: XP with SP2 CPU Type: Intel P4 1.5ghz HDD: segate 320gb Memory: 400mb Video Card: ATI Radeon 128mb 1. TV Card: HAUPPAUGE WinTV PVR150 KIT PCI internal TV: sony CRT 29'' TV - HTPC Connection: RCA ok... my problem is....channel 3 and Channel 4 do not fill the screen. channel 1, 2 and prime are fine but with 3 and 4 the picture doesnt stretch out to the left and right sides of the screen. it seems strange that three channels are ok and only two are not. that to me would suggest that it isnt to do with the resolution or zoom but i may be very wrong. and i have set my graphics card to overscan, so all the MP menus fill the screen fine. its just those two channels. any help or ideas would be much appreciated. thanks |

Country: | thats "normal". if your desktop resolution is different to the broadcasted resolution, you will have to use a zoommode. and sadly the providers do use/fill the complete available resolution. which resuts in black borders (or one flickering pixel line). the set-top-boxes automatically crop the image. MediaPortal is also able to crop the image. but since this is realtime imageprocessing, this requires quite some cpu power.

I never had problems with the cpu required for cropping. What is not normal in my opinion is that cropping no longer works in "normal" zoom-mode since about 2 weeks: http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/no...al-t23516.html | |

| ive had another play with all the settings, cropping and adjusting the position of the screen and it has not helped. i did notice that channel 4 was filling the screen this time (without playing with the settings). for some reason it changes, sometimes filling the screen and then not filling it. but most of the time not filling it. Channel 3 is not changing at all. |

Country: | i've noticed some channels will only broadcast in 4:3 mode but others will transmit in wide screen, but when they are transmitting a 4:3 program via their wide screen transmission they will put Verticle black bars on the left and right side of the screen. perhaps that's why it is doing it? |

Country: | If you are using a SVN version you may be interested to try my plugin ViewmodeSwitcher (take a look at my signature). With this plug in you are able to set a amount of pixel that should be cropped automatically if your receive PAL 4:3 or 16:9 or what ever. The whole configuration is based on a ruleset and lets you choose separate values for each kind of signal (based on resolution or aspect ratio). Automatic letterbox detection is also possible. Bye Lars

Country: | Hi branz. you have to put it in the /plugins/process folder, because it is a process plugin. The instruction is in the thread i have mentioned. The source folder contains the source code and is not necessary for you. Bye Lars EDIT: And don't forget it`s SVN only... no support of the stable version right now!
