Country: | Hi, When playing a mwv with 5.1 sound, media portal uses WMAudio Decoder DMO and will not attach to any other decoders such as AC3filter or FFaudio decoder no matter what I do. Because of this, the audio will not play in 5.1 sound. When I drop a wmv file into graphedit, it shows AC3filter in the loop, but when I look at the mwv as it is played from mediaportal, there is no AC3filter attached. I'm using the latest version as of 6/27/07, and I have the audio codec set to AC3filter. Anyway to fix this? Thanks |

| Portal Member | Windows XP or Windows Vista? Media Player v9, v10 or v11? I suspect that you have W-Vista or MP v11. I believe that Microsoft's ultimate product are blocking the 5.1 output and the high quality videos for protect the copyrights. Search for this question in Internet. Sorry if I can't help you. I don't have wmv with 5.1 sound. Last edited by esr87w; 2007-07-02 at 10:51. |

Country: | Windows media center 2005, I have 5.1 sound using any directshow player or windows media player without any problem. Just media portal does not produce 5.1 sound, because it does not use ac3 filter or ffdshow for wmv playback. This is a bug with media portal. |

Country: | this only happens when viewing a wmv movie with 5.1 sound. Any other file format, like mkv or avi playes fine. The problem is after looking at the graph of the file is that media portal doesent use ac3filter or ffdshow for wmv files even though it is set correctly |

Country: | Yeah I'm stuck with a similar issue on mutlichannel audio in quicktime movies. Can someone explain how to configure which codecs are actually used by MediaPortal, because something always seems to override what I selected in MP setup. |
