| The directory listing slowed down from barely noticable to very annoying (couple of seconds) when I uppgraded from 0.2.0.x to 0.2.3.0 + TVE3. I have the exact same setup as before (separate fileserver for movies, music, pictures etc) so it is due to some code change between 0.2.0.x and snapshot 2007-12-13. |

Country: | I have a similar issue. As I have upgraded from release to release the network browsing has gotten slower and slower. I am using Windows sharing (SMB) from a server, over 100Mbit/s ethernet to a laptop connected to my TV. I have several giant flat folders full of movies, songs, and pictures, and it takes up to 30 seconds to navigate between folders. If I exit Mediaportal and use windows to browse the folders, it works instantly. I've got an ATI Radeon 9200 video card, 1.6GHz Pentium M -- I wonder if this is an issue with visually rendering the directory in Direct X that is actually slowing down the browsing experience? |
