I selected the HID compliant device with the correct id. There was some output - just the one OUT report.

The logs attached are from the HID compliant device and the USB Human Interface Device just above it in the tree. They include some key presses of the pad just to be sure I got the right device. The difference between the two is that there is a CTL report in the higher level device.

Devices above this in the tree showed no output at all

Default Results

Here is test 18. Pressing all buttons.

USB logging Test done as well

USB Test Note - When I set iMon Manager to Mouse mode and closed it the mouse stick was able to move mouse pointer. I think this is normal but is is late.

Default Frontview was disabled....

Worked out why the lack of data - frontview was disabled.

Here's the revised log and you can clearly see the display messages too!

Update

OK, the lower level HID device doesn't show the CTL reports, only the IN and OUT reports.

Attached the log from the higher level device.

For my own curiosity on V7

Try setting to keyboard mode, stop iMON, then start iMON (it won't switch modes by just applying the setting) then either disable frontview or exit iMON again. Is your pad in mouse mode or keyboard mode? To see if it is keyboard mode, open notepad, enter some white space with the keyboard (or open an existing text file) then see if the cursor moves. My expectation is that even though you have keyboard mode set, it will revert to mouse mode.

Default Like this

globaldonkey this is what I find with v7

The keyboard/Mouse button lines secribe what the scrren says after I hit the button. This is the state it will be in upon closing iMon Manager.
The Exit lines show what the pointer did (Mouse Mode) or what was happening in Notepad (Keyboard Mode).

Initial Keyboard/Mouse Mode = Keyboard

Exit = No mouse stick response at all

I had Frontview set to Always start.
Looks like it may be in Keyboard mode but it does not actually let the stick move the cursor in Notepad.

Here is an update... hopefully fixing the mouse direction problem....

tide & globaldonkey:

Thatnks for the USB logging....

unfortunately, I don't see any difference between the keyboard and mouse startup.... Maybe there is another device that the command is being sent to???

OK, there is a very subtle difference. Attached are logs showing it, and I logged all devices in the tree. Only the HID device is logging any activity. In the first OUT command, iMON set for keyboard mode sends 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 80 to the device. In mouse mode it sends 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 80 to the device.

Test 19 results also attached. Mouse is moving in correct direction now AND if numerics are pressed first they work. However, the mouse movement is very jerky, compared to iMON and tends to drift a bit (ie when you press right, the mouse seems to drift down a lot).
