hi global donkey. i dont know which case you have or which remote u are using, but for me, the remote only works if i switch it to Keyboard function prior to running mediaportal...

Yes, I'm definitely in keyboard mode before I start MP. I've set IMON Manager to go into this mode by default (and rarely toggle out of it). When I first start MP, I can use the remote. After 10 seconds or so when the external display driver starts, the remote stops working.

I'm using the IMON IPAD. Version 6.20.0830 (Silverstone).

The USB device disconneting and reconnecting is a bit of a worry (and possibly not related), but I think I have a clue as to when it happens. I noticed as I gathered the attached logs (display working but remote stops working as soon as driver starts) that the device disconnected and reconnected as MP Test Tool gathered the Direct X diagnostics. So I did another test and went into System Info | Tools | Direct X Diagnostics, and sure enough the USB device disconnected and reconnected. So the good news is that it appears it is nothing to do with MP.

thats strange. i have the same remote and version (my case is the gd01-mx). the funny thing is: my remote does not work during the first 10seconds but it works after 10 seconds when the lcd is also displaying MP information...

but i am currently leaving this behind. just yesterday i bought my keysonic ack-540 keyboard and it is much more comfortable. i am only using the remote for listening to music with the tv switched off

I tried updating to the 7.01.0204 version of IMON. Now the silly IMON software locks the remote in mouse mode when Frontview is disabled (either by MP or manually). I'll try posting Soundgraph on this one. Sigh.

Behaviour with MP is still the same. Remote continues to work (in mouse mode now) until external display driver loads.

I have the same Problems here thats why I'm not using the new IMON Software.
I also do have the same problem with the USB device disconneting and reconnecting, this is defenetly not a MP problem. Even if you try to config a gamepad the USB Device disconnects ans reconnects in some strange loop. Soundgraph doesn't have an answer for this problem, there are some more people having the same problem in their forum. But I don't think that this is the problem why the remote does not work. I reallly would like to figure out where the problem is, but since there is no source code for this wonderful plugin, we can't do much but wait and hope that CybrMage will fix it as soon as possible.

Can you all report the firmware version of your VFD and the brand you bought from ? Maybe this will indicate a common behaviour.

I will report mine as well, when I get home.

F/W is: iMON Firmware Ver 0x3601 VFD OEM HID
It was part of the Silverstone LC20M case.

Are you using the "V3 DLL" option in plugin cfg or not ? I have a LC20M too and I need this option ticked to have everything working fine.

When I use this option my display stays blank, but the remote works fine.

My F/W : iMON Firmware Ver 0x80
My case : Silverstone LC20M

I need to use this option to have both working, hoped this was working for you too :-(

This issue is not solved and now when I have the option to blank the VFD during video playback, once video playback is stopped, VFD remain switched-off.

Fixed in 19-02-2008 but I figured out that you need to hit RESET and OK the first time then everything works as expected.
