Hi cybrmage,

I have a shuttle pc with vfd display and used the cybrdisplay plugin with the mcedisplay setting.
It worked great!

However since I switched to RC2 and Vista ultimate it doesn't work anymore.
It is not the driver of the vfd because it works when I use Vista media center.
I don't want Vista mediacenter, I want to use MP.

Please can you help me?

I just installed me a fresh Mediaportal (1.0.0.0 RC2) on an fresh System and tried to config my Alphacool 240x128 Grafikdisplay. I used this Display with External Display before and at the last time with CyberDisplay, without having trouble. But now the config of Cyberdisplay crashes when i hit "OK" to save my config. It says:

"Failed to locate assembl 'CybrDisplayPlugin, Version=0.2.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' Note that the configuration programm must be executed from/reside in the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end."

After crashing like that i can't even go back to the config, because when i trie to start the plugin from Mediaportal Config now i get the same Error Message and the plugin Window wont come up. The hole Mediaportal Config Windows closes when the plugin crashes an everything i configured in is not saved.

!!!HELP!!!

I downloaded the latest drivers for the AlphaCool Display for Windows and LCDHype (i use LCDHype drivers for the Cyberdisplay Plugin). I Also donwloaded the latest CyberDisplay Plugin (i wonder because the Text says 'CybrDisplayPlugin, Version=0.2.3.0,....)

Anyone here who fixed that or has the same issue??

Regards

Dirk

My System

Default Failed to locate assembly MSASSTATE

Going to take another stab at posting this one. A few others seem to be have had this issue but there hasn't been any solution posted as far as I have been able to search.

I had the plugin working fine for quite a while. I then had to reinstall 1 RC1 due to some problems. After the reinstall, whenever I try to launch the plugin configuration it errors out with:

Failed to locate assembly MSASSTATE, Version 6.0.6000.0, Culture=Neutral, PublicKeyToken=XXXXXXX, Note that the configuration program must be executed from/reside in the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end.

Now using RC2 but problem was occuring under RC1 as well.

Using the IMON 7.2.050 drivers. I have installed iMon and set the FrontView to always be off. Have removed the iMon Manager from startup.

Logs attached.

I'm trying to run Cyberdisplay plugin, but i cannot select this plugin in external display plugins configuration.
This is listed as "CyberDisplayPlugin (disabled)" and info:
Unable to find an entry point named 'DLL_GetInfo" in DLL "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\process\LCDDrivers \CybrDisplayPlugin.dll"
is shown.

Mediaportal 1.0.0 RC2,
Thermaltake Case with iMON display.

any ideas?

Question

Hi There,

first of all...GREAT work and a very nice PlugIn!

My Case is an Inter-Tech 2008V with an iMON VFD/LCD Display (iMON Firmware Ver 0x3801) connected via USB. I´ve installed the MediaPortal 1.0 RC2, the latest Cybr-PlugIn and iMON Manager ver 6.20.0830.

so far so good

with this PlugIn my Display works fine in MP (will say the Display shows all correctly like it should)

BUT

the update-/refreshrate for my display lies between 4-6 seconds and this is freaking me out. I´ve tested all settings but no luck! especially the EQ looks terrible with this refreshrate.

any ideas what i could do?

a little question at the end:
like everbody can see on the website for my case, inter-tech says that my display should be a VFD. Is this right? Because my display has Icons like a disc and bars and in the plugIn these Icons only available when i set my display to LCD.

Thanks a lot and sorry for my english (i´m german)

Poi

First of all, despite what is being said in this thread you can install the latest Soundgraph driver 7.20, it works without issues.

How are standard text messages displayed when you browse through MediaPortal menus? Is the display showing the change on the spot or do you have the same kind of delay? Is the behavior changing in any way if you preselect "VFD" rather than "Auto"?

From what I see on the pictures your display looks like a VFD, however, a pretty elaborated one as the standard VFD display only 2 lines of text and no icons.
The log is not clear to me:
iMONLCDg.DisplayLines(): Sending text to display type LCD2
iMONLCDg.DisplayLines(): Suppressing display update!

This suggests that you are using the wrong display type.

It may well be that this display is not fully supported by CybrMage's plugin. He can only implement properties for hardware that he knows about. If it'S only EQ that is not fully supported you might consider to not using it.

hi there,

thx for the quick reply

All the messages in MP have a delay between 4-6 seconds. When I selected VFD my Display shows nothing. Only in Automode or when I select LCD. Thats the reason for my question about the Display-type. Intertech says VFD but like I say: A. The PlugIn works only with LCD and only in LCD-mode I can activate the icons on my Display like the disc and the bars.

Thx
Poi

Well I tried with 7.20 and was never able to use the keyboard mode of the ipad.
Only 6.20.0830 enabled me to use the keyboard mode.

With RC2 I now have another problem.
Once the powerscheduler shuts down MP the display stays on and after the next wakeup the keyboard mode is gone.
Not sure why this is happening, but for now I am not investigating too much (no time on my hand)

It was worth giving it a try. Both drivers work for me, however, with both versions I still need to go through activating FrontView and then deactivating it before the remote works within MP. Something that I will fix by using a different remote in the next future.

The display can be set to switch off at MP exit. Did you activate this?
The behavior of the remote depends also on your settings of the Antec/Soundgraph driver in the plugin. Most likely there is no way to avoid this and you have to activate/deactivate Frontview with MP in window mode to have it work again.

There is work ongoing for the IR ServerSuite to accommodate all these elements. The developer is fighting to free up some personal time to do the job. If you want to be on the safe side you may want to exchange the remote. You can either use a genuine MCE or better a Logitech programmable remote to avoid all the hassle.

Yep, set this option to stop the display on MP exit.
In RC1 it worked perfectly in RC2 it doesn't.

The Soundgraph driver is set to use the keyboard mode as well.

I guess the problem is with the closing and not being able to do anything in time for the display to shut down properly before the computer reaches standby. But I am happy to have it working that far and it is really an awesome piece of work ;-)

I probably will give the Logitech idea a try.
