I have currently purchased a new mediapc using the Thermaltake DH101 case which includes the Imon LCD.
I have grabbed the latest Imon software and the LCD seems to work fine using this.
My next step was to attempt to get mediaportal to work with the LCD but I am not having much luck.

As this is the first case I have had with an LCD I may have done something incorrect but I have followed the instructions (I think)

I would appreciate some help. Log file is attached.

Thanks Guys

@ Wizard_TPG
i've got the DH101 too and mine is working fine with mp, but you do have to use the software that came with the cd and not the "internet" driver.

Default unreadable Imon LCD

@ JoeSmith

I have also the DH101, but my Imon LCD is quite unreadable, since the contrast between characters and background seeems to be non-existent. I mean, I played with the contrast / brightness bars, but with no result.
Have you the same problem ?

I got it working, thanks JoeSmith.
However everytime I try and play a movie in My Videos mediaportal freezes and only using task manager and killing MP can correct.
As soon as I disable the plugin everything is fine.
Ill do a log and post it when I get a chance.

As this is my first message on this board, a big "HI" to all of you

I've got the same DH101 case. But with less luck I guess. I tried as you did the 6.20.0830 IMon driver which is the one provided on my CD. I just have the same result as with the latest grabbed from the soundgraph official website : nothing displayed appart (useless) information coming from the iMon manager.
I will try with other drivers I may found on soundgraph website, but it seems to be a longshot...

Could you guys post the CybrDisplayPlugin configuration you used to get it working ? And what is precisely your version of iMon driver ? And, what actually are we supposed to see as we press the "Test display" button ? At some points, I'm unable to say under which circumstances, my VFD was saying "ORIG" but it stayed that way until I reactivate the iMon manager so I guess it's pointless...

@Galerio : the case packaging and all pictures I found before ordering it shown a nice bright easy to read VFD. The one I received is readable, but only bearely. It is blue, you know, that blue that always appears blurry and disturbing as you look at it (some christmas decorations are of that very blue), so it is really a stupid idea to use it for text display...

Anyways, I've tried several different methods of verifying and fixing .Net but nothing has solve the problem so it looks like I'll have to live with it until my next rebuild.

Going to take another stab at posting this one. A few others seem to be have had this issue but there hasn't been any solution posted as far as I have been able to search.

I had the plugin working fine for quite a while. I then had to reinstall 1 RC1 due to some problems. After the reinstall, whenever I try to launch the plugin configuration it errors out with:

Failed to locate assembly MSASSTATE, Version 6.0.6000.0, Culture=Neutral, PublicKeyToken=XXXXXXX, Note that the configuration program must be executed from/reside in the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end.

Now using RC2 but problem was occuring under RC1 as well.

Using the IMON 7.2.050 drivers. I have installed iMon and set the FrontView to always be off. Have removed the iMon Manager from startup.
Got exactly the same error, running the same RC2 and iMon software 502 version in a Zalman HD160+ case.

On your mention of the possibility of a .net problem, I am installing .net 3.5 as I type this. Will let you know if it resolves it.

Also, should the LCD folder contain any specific files? I know I tried LCDSmartie in the past to no avail, so maybe it over wrote or deleted files I should have?

Edit: Installed .net 3.5 and rebooted, no change, still get the same error

I don't think so...
Why ? Because when I received my case, the firt sofware I tried was the one delivered in the box, SoundGraph IMedian. And it was really nice, and readable. And when I say readable, I mean that i could read 3 meters avay from the case.
But the problem is that IMedian is not as good as MediaPortal. I need some features which are not present in Imedian. That's why my htpc is under MediaPortal now.

Hum, you mean that the contrast level slide bar in mediaportal plugins such as CybrDisplayPlugin does not allow such variation as the one from iMon Manager ? Did you try changing the contrast in iMon manager ? Maybe it's value still affects the globally obtained contrast as the slider in the mediaportal plugin could be some sort of addition to that original one. It's just a guess though...

By the way, could you tell me what versions you're running under ? CybrDisplayPlugin/ExternalPlugin, mediaportal, iMon manager, iMon driver. I would really appreciate that information

I'm really lost here. I tried some new things (essentially new driver/firmware/plugins versions). I did not even once get something displayed on my iMon LCD screen.
Previously I always had, with Cybr plugin as well as with externalDisplay plugin, dll issues (probably not good versions of all the stuff) about bad interfaces and so on. So obviously this couldn't work.
Now I installed the Cybr plugin mpi version that can be found in the download plugin section of the website instead of the forum. I got no more errors in my log. When I check the log it seems to work fine indeed ! But, same a usual, I get nothing on my lcd...
Here is my log file if someone wants to help.
