Do you have an idea of what could be happening ?
I'll have to check what went wrong, because MP 0.1.2 should have LIS2 support...

I don't think the 2 can coexist. But you can always try.

If I find what caused the problem I can always create you an updated version of the ProcessPlugins.dll that includes LIS2 support...

I have a HD44780 display through the serial port. LCDHype does not have a driver for this situation. Moreover, I share the same serial port with WinLIRC.
To solve the problem I decided to develop my driver, using the SDK available from LCDHype website.
The driver access the serial port directly, through its I/O address, therefore it needs WinLIRC running BEFORE MediaPortal.
You must configure the baud rate in WinLIRC.
To install, copy the HD44780S.DLL to LCDDrivers folder.
The source code is included (Delphi 6).
Thanks jlb1234,
I'll have a look at it ...and to your sourcecode too.

***EDIT***
That link you provided doesn't seem to work (anymore) :-(
Can you put it back online?

Hi Joe,

You must copy the link and paste it in the address field of your internet browser. I think that my ISP uses some type of control that avoid direct access to files inside my web site.

Default What did I d wrong???

I installed MP, followed the instructions for the iMon VFD, but nothing happens....
Yes, I have the Silverstone 10M case.

I don't know where to start diagnosing. Anybody got a few hints where to look?

BTW: I run MP 0.1.2.0, so there's no need to install the plugin separately, right?

Do I need the iMon driver? I guess not, but now I'm not so sure anymore.

Please help.

Regards and thanks,

Hans de Git

Default Display is working, now for the remote control

I finally managed to get the iMon VFD working: I removed the iMon software. Now the display works like a charm. However, I want to use my remote control (iMon PAD) to control Media Portal.

Does anybody have an idea how to accomplish that? I thought Coruba67 managed to get this setup working. Am I right?

BTW: since I got the LCD working, my last question could be off-topic... Sorry for this.

Correction, it does work by adding the ExternalDisplay v2 into MP 0.1.2.0 . I can see two entries for external display in MP config and by checking both and configuring the one which lists VLSystem LIS2, my VFD works again.

Sorry,

I've been really busy the past time building in support for MCE compatible displays. I've been able to get music and video to work but TV playback is really giving me a hard time.

That is why I was so quiet lately.

@MFO:
I checked and there was indeed a problem with the VLSystem LIS2 support. The sources are in MP but the dislay type wasn't added to the setup screen.

This problem is fixed now, so the next version of MP will have support for it.
