Question

I do got understand this. When you guys refer to MCE display plugin - do you really mean the External display plugin - that comes with Mediaportal - and was created by JoeDalton ??.

I have for a long time now used the External Display plugin with a special driver created by DavidK - for the internal display in my Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo E - but in MP 0.2.3.0 RC2 it stopped working.

When configuring the External display plugin with a Siemens Scaleo E VFD display - it complains that 'display not found'.

By the way - this display works absolutely fine if I use Microsoft Media Center Edition 2005 - so if a real MCE compatible display engine were possible - then my display would work again - I assume.

Any thoughts on thsi is very much appreciated

If you want to test this plugin, you can download it here.

- Unzip it in your MP folder ( :!: respect the path names :!: ),

The 0.2.0RC2 version is working on 0.2.3 RC1 with SVN (15/07) but I don't test it yet with 0.2.3 RC2

Question

I have also tested it and MediaPortal Crashes everytime when MCEDisplay is enabled as plugin.
When I leave it disabled - it doesn't hurt my system.

Very strange and sad ...

Scrubefr - do you still use the files in MCEDisplay_for_RC2a.zip for MP 0.2.3.0 RC2 ?

What kind of file is the your MCE Display.mci ?????

Any suggestions to get it working - is very much appreciated

/Olsen

HrOlsen,

try to use external display plugin again, but first delete "externaldisplay.xml" in MP-folder. Choose and reconfigure the suitable driver for your display. Did the trick for to get it work again!

stevie77,
Thanks for your inputs. Unfortunately the external display plugin do not have a built in support for Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo E, so I had to use a special dll that a portalmember DavidK wrote. This is still working fine in 0.2.3.0 RC1 but broken in 0.2.3.0 RC2. Now to get rid of that special dll I thought that a MCE compatible display plugin would be a safe path to follow - the Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo E built-in display works fine with Microsoft MCE 2005.
But apparently JoeDalton is no longer having time for keeping it in sync. with new releases of MediaPortal.
For now - I have gone back to RC1 :-(
Any thoughts to this is very much appreciated

Your VFD is supported now. Try "scaleo e" driver and enjoy!

I have tried the suggested mpi - and MediaPortal crashes :-( - as soon as it is enabled.
I have no configuration possible within this MCE display plugin - so I can't choose any display type.
Is that how it is suppose to work ?

Best regards
