Mh, the problem is, that equalizer options aren't selectable in plugin. The options are grayed out, if you know what I mean.
What i can tell you so far:
Option to use the top bar as volume display and the lower as progress display works perfect.
What doesn't work is the option to turn off the display when shutting down mediaportal - as i said before, the last displayed message keeps on LCD all the time when returning to windows. The other thing that doesn't work is the option to turn off the display during video playback - or does this just work at dvd-playback?

The shutdown code has a bug... It will be fixed in the next version.

Are you sure the option is enabled? (the last log you posted has NO advanced options enabled)

Please post a log of MediaPortal when playing video... thanks

EDIT: Looks like the configuration GUI got messed up in the redesign... it will be fixed in the next version

I tested that after the last log-post, so yes, i enabled it.
Then I started an avi from out mediaportal, but the display didn't turn off. It displayed "Full Screen Mode" and the two bars - volume bar and progress bar, both where reacting normal to inputs.

EDIT: Ok, now it kinda worked, but it also didn't turn off the right way. The last message keeps displayed as long as video playback lasts - so, same reaction as when I shut down Mediaportal.

Again, didn't change much.
The equalizer function is now selectable, but i don't get the equalizer when playing a mp3. The LCD displays track title, progress and lenght of the file.
When playing a movie, LCD keeps displaying last message. The interesting thing is, that I only have mouse-function with the iPad as long as the movie plays and the switch button between keyboard and mouse mode doesn't react either, as if iMon manager is completely closed. Only when i stop the movie playback, i get the normal behaviour back.
Also the "turn display off on shut down" doesn't work, last message keeps displayed.

Maybe I should kick this ******* display out

EDIT: Might it be that the equalizer doesn't work when using Winamp as external player for music files?
My upper description wasn't correct -> most time when shutting down Mediaportal the LCD displays "MediaPortal" in first line and the actual time when shutting down in second line, but that displayed facts stay for all the time, the clock doesn't react.

As your EDIT indicates, you are using an external player for music... The Equalizer only works with the internal (Bass) audio engine...

That's my fault... Typo in the code that turns the display off... It is now fixed... (well, at least the type is fixed)

Which means that they added a command to the display that was triggered by the typo... to enable/disable the remote... interesting...

Should be fixed now. (same code as above)

Try the new version and report your results. Thanks.

With support for hardware with firmware version 0x3801 (which uses a modified command set) now working, I have made changes to the driver so that this support is more generic and can be applied manually if needed (new display type LCD2 in advanced settings).

I have also made the startup delay (That ned_flanders needed to work around an issue where the device would disconnect from the USB bus momentarily) for the driver configurable on the advanced settings page. This option is no longer automatically applied when a 0x3801 device is detected... So If you need this option, you will need to reconfigure the driver.

Regards,
CybrMage

At the risk of offending you again, may I ask where the new version is posted?
Is it from the link in the first post??

#EDIT#
No problem, I found it...
it's here:

Hi again cybrmage!

Plugin almost works perfect now (display turns blank von video playback if you want it to, equalizer works when using internal mediaportal bass player etc.).
First issue I wanted to post was VU Meter 2 causes MediaPortal to crash, but as I can see you already fixed this. Second issue concerns display setting. When I set display to "LCD2" as recommended for my "new" LCD, the display doesn't start when starting MediaPortal, it keeps blank. When I choose "Auto Detect" it works fine!

Greetings,
Stefan

EDIT: Mh, MediaPortal still crashes here when choosing VU Meter 2, starting MediaPortal and starting playback of a song. Enclosed the crash logs. In the error.log it says something like "Exception: The index was out of array" (poor translation, sorry).
