Your logs also show that the display is disabled... but you had "Extensive Logging" turned on, so I have a better idea of what's happening....

The driver can't open the display...

Did you run configuration.exe and test the display before or after the driver stopped working in MediaPortal???

Can you run the test again... except, this time, save a copy of the mediaportal.log after the first time you run MediaPortal (when the display works) and then run MediaPortal again... then post both logs....

The "Test Display" button does everything that the plugin normally does to start and stop the display... except sending large streams of data very quickly....

So that would seem to indicate that during normal operation, the display is being locked up by the normal rate of data going to the display.... A "Normal Eq" display limited to 30 updates per second sends abount the same amount of data to the display as 3 updates of the graphical area ( 720 bytes vs 648 bytes... This display is a REALLY slow USB device...)...

After You run MediaPortal, and find that it doesn't work, can you run iMON, and enable FrontView?? Does frontview driver the display after it stops working with MediaPortal?

After you do the tests (and reboot from power off)... try going into into the plugin configuration and set the "Comm Delay" paramater to 5 (it defaults to 1)... Then try the test again and see if it makes any difference...

Yes... I meant RealMatrix 8-}

But... your log was pretty much identical to his... EXCEPT... you had the "Extensive Logging" turned on... and I got a critical piece of information from the little bit of extra info....

Ok - getting REALLY sick of the abuse - cut the cr*p and lets try to fix this
I will only tollerate so much and you are over stepping the boundries of politeness and respect.
I am simply testing things, and your abusive remarks add nothing to the discussion.

Further testing:

You are (obviously) correct about the sg_vfd.dll (my version is 7.0.1210)
The VFD locks up on resume from standby - needs a reboot to reset.
My display NEEDS the 'Delayed start' option.
Sometimes the driver config can't detect an Imon device - this seems to need Frontview to access the device first. (I set it to 'always' then never' - that seems to get the driver to see the device).

In light of your attitude I'm giving up on this though - It's really not woth the abuse.
I hope you find a better outlet for your anger...

Hi again!

I ran configuration.exe and tested the display before AND after the driver stopped working in MediaPortal. Didn't change anything.

Enclosed both logs - one after the first start of MediaPortal and one after the second, when display doesn't work anymore.
I also tested your suggestion to set the Comm Delay to 5, but that didn't change anything.
After the second start of MediaPortal, I also ran iMon Manager and started up the display - that worked fine. iMon Manager could initialise the display instantly. But that also didn't get the display work in MediaPortal afterwards.

Greetings,
Stefan

Hi guys!

I have a Silverstone GD01 MX Case with Imon LCD Display. Ive installed and configured the plugin as described. The test function within the plugin configuration works fine, however I cant get it to work within MP. ---> only the clock is being displayed.

Hidiho cybrmage!

Works fine with the new version
A really BIG BIG BIG from my side!!!

The only thing that stroke out may not be an issue at all (that's why I didn't post the logs yet):
When I select "extensive logging", I can turn the Comm Delay down to 1 and everything works fine.
When I unselect "extensive logging", I have to turn the Comm Delay at least to 2, to get the display work proberly. When turning it to 1, the 16x2 area doesn't display something after second start.
But as it also works fine with Comm Delay 2, it isn't really an issue for me.
It just seems to be necessary for me to turn out "extensive logging". Yesterday I heard some shoutcast streams and did other stuff within MediaPortal for about two or three hours wich caused the MediaPortal.log to grow up to 836MB and MediaPortal to crash

Greetings,
Stefan

The "Extensive Logging" option adds a delay of about 75 to each write to the display (it's EXTENSIVE in more ways than one...)... So it looks like your display needs a delay of at least 2.... I'll add that to the next update....

Please post the logs (NOT the 836M version!!) so I can see exactly what the changes did... thanks

Ah, i see!
So...the display is a really bad (lame) one, isn't it?

Enclosed three logs of the three different cases. For sure not the 836M one
In last case "Comm Delay 1 without extensive logging" the display gets started but there isn't anything displayed in the 16x2 area like it appeared some plugin versions before. Only some of the little icons are displayed.

Greetings,
Stefan

I'm having a couple of small problems with the new releases of the plugin. I dont seem to be able to get it to force on graphical mode. This worked previously with the older releases from the end of last year, but since updating, I cant get anything but the 2 line text display. I'm attaching the MP log with extensive logging turned on in the plugin.

The 2nd problem has probably always been there, and may be an MP issue, not the plugin. I've just started to use the screensaver function built into MP, as my display was starting to show some retention, and after the screensave kicks in, when 1 song ends, and another starts, the song name display goes blank on the LCD. It still shows the elapsed/time on the 2nd line (as I cant get it into graphical mode) but nothing on the top line. If I press a key to bring the main display back on, then the LCD updates immediately with the song name. I havent posted a log for this, as with extensive logging on, by the time the problem occurs, the log file was almost 4meg in size. But if you need me to post more details, I'm happy to.

Cheers for any help
