Mapping the startbutton to Basic home

Hi

I wounder if there is any way of mapping the Startbutton on MCE remote to show the start screen (i think it's calld basic home) where i can select if i would like to watch TV or listen to music or watch a movie. I have tried several different ways but ended up with with another screen thik it is Home, and one thing every time i select some other function on the Startbutton it dose the command and also window is resized WHY???

Help me please!

If you need any information then what i have provided please ask.

I am not totally clear on what issues you have. But I can give you a few hints from my own experience.

In configiguration/general, make sure you have "start with basic home" active
In the configuration as well, in the section for your remote, go to mapping of your start button and choose "switch home" as action for that button. This button will then allow you to switch from normal home to basic home. If that is what you want to try to do.

I don't have a MP installation around, so this is from memory.

Ok no that was not the thing i was after. I need the following help.

When you start Mediaportal you will see the start screen where you can select if you like to watch TV or play a vidieo or why not listen to music.

Now if i select to watch TV and after a that i like to watch a movie. Now i would like to be able to press the start button on the remote and be switched to the startup screen where i started so i can select to watch a movie (dvd) or a episod of a series (avi for ex.) without that the screen switches from fullscreen to minimized and come to some other screen.

I think the shortcuter plugin can handle this, but also if you have a mce remote if you push the respective button (video, Music etc.) this should take you to the MP parts you wish...?

I do not have the remote just now in front of me but as i can remember there is no video & Music button on the remote!

Obviously I misunderstood the question

With the extra info you give, I guess the startbutton of your MCE remote is not "captured" by MP but rather by the system. Leading to another window opening...

Not having an MCE remote myself, I can only point you to the thread about the IR server that replaces the "MCE replacement driver". Maybe you'll find your answer there. Otherwise I hope someone else can jump in.

Hi,
When a MCE remote it's used together with MP the "green" button always take you to "home" if not something it's not correct..

Maybe (scuse my english , i'm french) he should use , the green,blue,red and yellow button on MCE remote to directoly go to TV , RADIO,VIDEO and music section in MP, no ?

sorry, there are different versions of the remote (see picture)
usually you use the buttons above the num-keys for jumping to either view.

Yeah ,
On each picture you attached we can see these four buttons (blue , red,yellow and green) at the bottom of the telco .
I use these buttons to navigate through Video,music,photo and video directly ....

Doesn't it work for you ?
