Prevent MediaPortal Exiting Hauppauge Ir.exe

How can I prevent MediaPortal exiting the Ir.exe belonging to my 45-button Hauppauge remote but at the same time getting the remote to work fully in MediaPortal?

The problem is that when I select to watch a movie and it launches in VLC, the remote will not control VLC as MediaPortal shuts down the ir.exe app...

Or is there a fully written mediaportal control for the irremote.ini file? And then I can turn Mediaportals 'Use Hauppauge Remote' off?

Hi,

I would not use a modified Irremote.ini. This will not give you the full functionality, you get with the native support of MP.

You can check "External processes may use..." this should prevent MP from shutting down Ir.exe.

Just now I also ticked the box underneath "External processes..." and all is working grand!
