WORKING howto for IRTrans and Media Portal?

Does anybody have IRTrans with VFD and MCE Remote working perfectly with MP?

I use Cybermages plugin (in plugins/processes)
installed latest IRTrans (with MCE support and auto startup)
My case is the MCE-303

I keep having all sorts of problems:
- Sometimes IRTRans does not start up fast and MP does not have a responce.
- the HOME > EHOME problem The "Green Button" switches between Fullscreen and Windowed..
- My VFD works, but in MP nothing is displayed (the CyberDisplay is on and configured to USB and IRTrans)

Have you tried the external display plugin ?

I used this with my dign/irtrans vfd,
quite some ago though.

Yes I have (the Cybermage plugins says to turn it off) tried both with an without the cyberdisplay plugin on...
But maybe I did it wrong, i'd like someone who has it working to post some settings or HowTo...

Ok, maybe a little late, but this should help.

To get ExternalDisplay or Cybrmage's plugin to work with IRTrans needs DLPort I/O installed.

You can get it here

With that installed, your display will (probably) spring to life, although Cybrmage's latest version doesn't seem to like IRTrans, so I'd stick to the ExternalDisplay plugin.

Now, if only someone could fix the "half-brightness" problem.....

Oh, and to solve your problem of IRTrans slow startup :

Download latest IRTrans drivers here.

These allow you to install the IRTrans server as a Windows service!

You can try the next SVN version. I have fixed a bug in the CyberDisplay plugin (which is included since some time) that prevents the IrTrans displays from working. Here is the mantis link: 0001715: CybrDisplay is not working with all IrTrans displays that were working with the ExternalStatus plugin. - MediaPortal Bugtracker

Hopefully it will work for you as well. If yes please report back.

Lars,

I've just downloaded and installed the SVN and can confirm that the CybrDisplay plugin works perfectly with the IRTrans VFD in my OrigenAE S14V. Further testing to follow and see if the brightness issue is fixed.

Edit:

Can confirm brightness now appears to be working correctly also. No more dim VFD!! Yay!!!!
