| Okay, I have rebooted and reinstalled. Still no folder with logs in the team mediaportal folder. When I bring up the event viewer it says that mediaportal has been successfully installed. Still uses 50% of system resources when I try and start it up without doing anything on the screen upon double clicking. |

Country: | You might want to check whether you've installed all the software requirements. Mediaportal needs -amongst others- an up-to date Windows installation, Windows mediaplayer 10 or higher, Microsoft .Net 1 and 2. These are -more or less- extensions to Windows which are needed for MP. You can check the whole list here. If you're unsure whether something is allready installed or not, just try to install it, all the installers linked to will check on previous installations. If needed (it probably is), reinstall Mediaportal afterwards, you can find a useful guide here And welcome to our forums. ![]() [edit]To reply to the remark that your videocard should be DirectX9 compliant: the Radeon 1300 series are way above the minimum, so that should be OK. | Running it on XP with sp2. I downloaded it from the download link on the front page of this address: http://www.team-mediaportal.com/ Where it says "free download" I didn't modify the install at all. Just hit next all the way through. I just got done double checking that I had all of the requirements on my computer and I do. |

Country: | Why have you got DIVX 6 as your mpeg2 codec ? You need a proper mpeg2 compatible codec to run mediaportal (supplied with MPV + MPA), or is this a mistake.

| I thought an mpeg2 codec was divx, my bad. Where do I find the mpeg2 codec name? Ronilse, I have done both of those. It doesn't appear that it is crashing. It's almost as if it is running somewhere but I can't see it. If I open the systems utility it is showing as running, but I can't see it anywhere. And it apparently is using 50% of the memory (which someone told me is wrong). I have roxio media creator 9 installed as well and I don't know if this would somehow make it act up. Ever heard of anything like what I'm talking about or am I just a complete weirdo? Last edited by bane34; 2007-02-17 at 00:18. |

| When I tried running the MP setup, nothing happened. Opened up Windows Task Manager and looked under the processes tab. Configuration.exe was at 50% of the Cpu usage, RegSvcs.exe was at 50% usage. The total usage on the computer is at 100%. Something has to be wrong. |
