OK so here is my problem...

I have just built a relativly cheap computer to run as a media box but the tv side of things are giving me grief

Firstly i have had to use much older drivers for my tv tuner card as dvico dropped the BDA drivers for Unified drivers and consiquently the mp setup wont detect that there is a tuner.

ok so im working with slightly older drivers. Now i search for channels and thats all good. i then fire up media portal -> goto my tv and then bang a error comes up the heading warning and a message saying "authentification failed (then some random symbols) and all i can do is end task the error and then that intern kills mp.

whether its relavent or not i dont know but the tuner works perfectly fine with dvicos own tuner software fusion.

I have tried going back to the previous version of media portal, i have tried every single version of the drivers listed on dvicos website

i have no idea what is goin on.

HELP!

thanks

Camden

Ok peeps if anyone is interested i have got tv finally going.

I still have to use old drivers because of the whole lack of bda drivers, meaning no detection by MP otherwise.

but as for the video and audio codecs i had to change from the dvico supplied ones to the MP set and it all works peachy!

took ages to work out something so simple

Cheers

Hey moobaque,
I got this card working with the new drivers. You have to edit the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file in the media portal directory. Follow this link it will talk you through it.

When I get home later I'll post the changes I did to get it to work.

Tried sending a post saying they would not work yesterday and to try another codec like MPV\MPA, but as my finger hit the send the internet connection stopped working, glad you have it sorted, was going to update my daughters Dvico Dual to new drivers and MP 0.2.3.0 to see if i could find a problem, will not bother now, just in case i break something for her setup which she love's showing of to her friends

Now all i have to do is sort BT over my internet that i keep losing connection with.

That would be awesome if you post up the changes needed i would like to try the newer drivers in the hope they will run the device a little more effeciently. And maybe not be so hungry for stupidly strong signal levels...

my 2 set top boxes and the inbuilt hd tuner in my lcd tv get 90-100% signal through my antenna but as soon as i use the dvico i cant even see all the FTA channels

Hey Moobaque,
Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you.
I've attached the edited version of the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml that worked on my Fusion Dual.
Just backup your original one and replace with the attached one. These worked FusionHDTV3.61 drivers
let me know how you go.
cheers
