Hey All,

I setup the TV Server and clients today. But I have found that my local works fine with no issues but all remote clients freeze or display rubbish on TV screen on remote clients.

I have tried a remote Vista client and a remote Windows XP client and both freeze or give rubbish output and give no error messages. I can tell from the TVS Engine that it is seeing the client and says that it is "TimeShifting" with no worries locally. But nothing on remote clients or just rubbish output.

Any ideas people? Attached is tv.log

i also have the same problem, but i think if you use XP OS for TV Server your problem will be solved, but i still havent checked or tested it.

1.Not sure about vista I wouldn't think this should really matter unless it's a problem with UAC??
2.Either attach logs or use he pastebin rather than copy/paste
3.What networking are you using? wirelss b/g? Wired 10/100Mbps? etc
4.Try to test the server with VLC as a clinet and look at the message window and check for errors.
5.You should pick up a DVB-S sat card off TM and get freeview!! launching tommorrow! Yeah Go NZ!

No UAC is long been disabled...

100Mb Full Duplex Wired and Wireless 802.11G 54Mb (Well not quite!)

hmm, yeah I'd expect nothing but problems with wireless. (It can work but don't expect it to!) rtsp streaming uses UDP packets so it's not robust what you get is what you get there is no error correction (I don't think, someone correct me if I'm wrong) thats why with wireless or a bad network cable you can get corruption. But if your using 100mbps wired too then this should't be the problem. I use 100mbps wired for my bedroom media pc and it works a charm. I also have a wireless laptop (802.11g) and with a PERFECT signal it sometimes works just fine but I couldn't rely on it.

I know wireless is not known for QOS, but hey its always a nice test bed. Works on Wireless then should work on other types of LAN's.... I may have to get wireshark out and watch the traffic going in and out.

Have you tried it with a 100mbps client? I get exactly the same problem using wireless. Really I'd say UDP and wireless don't mix, specially if you have a cordless phone! But yes etheral would prove it.

Yeah tried with a remote VLC client (100MB FD) today attaching to a stream initiated by the client local to the TVS. I gather thats the only way to get into TVS without the MP client?

So I went rtsp://hostname/stream2.0 Thats works fine, but when I tried MP and used ethereal I saw very little traffic other then usual stuff and SQL traffic.... So I think there is still some issues with the TVS and MP Plugin???
