MySQL hostname localhost

Hello,

I have a copy of MySQL 5 on my PC. After I install TV-Server and try to open the TV-Server Configuration it asks me to enter the hostname, user id, etc. I put in the hostname of my MySql "localhost". It gives me a "Please specify a valid hostname or IP address for the server!" But that is the valid hostname. I have tried everything ... IP, 127.0.0.1, everything. Why doesn't it accept localhost; that is the default hostname for MySql on Windows.

TV-Server/Configuration/MySql - MediaPortal Manual Documentation

May help identify, sounds more like it should be the name of pc on network.

I don't see MediaPortal TV Server. I only see Team MediaPortal | TV Server, then in that folder is Help, TV Server Configuration, TV-Server Log Files, Uninstall TV-Server and Web Site.

I tried using the actual server name on the network. I got a "Connection failed! Host 'servername.home is not allowed to connect to this MYSQL server."

Have you got TVServer config shortcut on your desktop, is this a single pc or what we call a multiseat setup (2+ networked pc's)

In Add or Remove Programs, it says MediaPortal TV Server/Client. Did I only install the client? Maybe?

When I installed it, I selected "Perform an advance install" and then "Dedicated TV-Server (master)".
