Exclamation Nova-S-PLUS Tuning Problems Persist > RC4

TV-Server Version: 1.0 RC4
MediaPortal Version: 1.0 RC4
MediaPortal Skin: n/a
Windows Version: XP Professional
CPU Type: P4 2.66Ghz
HDD: Plenty
Memory: 2.0 GB
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9600
Video Card Driver: Catalyst 08.10
Sound Card: SoundMax onBoard
Sound Card AC3:
Sound Card Driver:
1. TV Card: Hauppage NOVA-S-Plus PCI
1. TV Card Type: PCI DVB-S
1. TV Card Driver: Latest as of last month.
  • I have a DishPro 1000.4 with a triple head LNB and built in DISCEQ switch pointed at Dish 119, 110, 129.
  • I have a NOVA-S-Plus PCI installed in a clean XP installation with latest Hauppauge drivers.
  • DVB Dream and MyTheatre scans all LNBS and transponders successfully.
  • I have did the calculation 25600-H=V to change all horizontal frequencies to verticals.
  • MediaPortal scans LNB1 completely with no problems.
  • MediaPortal only picks up 3 out of like 12 transponders on LNB2.
  • The 3 transponders it does pick up...they are in fact on 110 as intended...so the actually switch is working to change the LNB path...but for some reason only a portion of the transponders are successfully scanned...
  • I have also noticed, that the 3 or 4 transponders it picks up on LNB2 are SPOT transponders and that no Conus are being picked up.
  • I have tried the voltage reg hack...it did nothing to fix the problem.

Settings:

Sat #1 Diseqc: Level1AA Band:NA Bandstacked DP KU-Hi Satellite: Custom InI with all Horizontals changed to verticals (25600 - H =V)
Sat #2 Diseqc: Level1AB Band:NA Bandstacked DP KU-Hi Satellite: Custom InI with all Horizontals changed to verticals (25600 - H =V)

Using default LNB frequencies....I also tried the 11250 and 14350 settings with no luck.

Thanks in advance for any guidance....

Having the same issues with a NOVA-S-PLUS pointing at the same dish.

I have tried the same Diseqc settings as Cypsteel with no luck. I have also tried a 22khz switch, also no luck.

Anyone come up with a solution for this?

My System

Default

I have same dish but pointing to 61.5, 72 and 77 without changing the transponders frequencies to vertical, etc.. I can read only about 3 transponders.. on 61.5.. using twinhand 1020p, using NA Bandstaked Ku-Hi.... etc.

So I think is not a nova problem, nor media portal problem...I think it's related to the internal switch on the 1000.4 and/or power insertion to the dish.

I have a old pansat and have same problem scanning..

In any case of transponders polarity conversion....all vertical need to be found as default setting, and is not the case...

So, first we need to get all vertical TP working and properly scanned..

On 119, I have all horizontal and vertical working. You have to run them through the calculation to convert the horizontal to vertical.

For example, my list of transponders on 119 is:

[SATTYPE]
1=2410
2=Echostar 7, DirecTV 7S & Anik F3

[DVB]
0=20
1=12224,V,20000,56
2=12253,V,20000,56
3=12282,V,20000,56
4=12311,V,20000,56
5=12341,V,20000,56
6=12370,V,20000,78
7=12399,V,20000,56
8=12457,V,20000,56
9=12486,V,20000,34
10=12516,V,20000,56
11=13099,V,20000,56
12=13128,V,20000,56
13=13157,V,20000,56
14=13186,V,20000,56
15=13216,V,20000,56
16=13245,V,20000,56
17=13274,V,20000,56
18=13303,V,20000,56
19=13332,V,20000,56
20=13361,V,20000,56

Notice the horizontals have been converted to verticals by using: 25600 - Horizontal Freq = Vertical Freq

THIS WORKS PERFECTLY ON LNB1. I get all channels with the above settings.

I have done this same thing to my LNB2 pointed at 110 and I can only get about 3 transponders in MediaPortal. Both LNB's work fine in DVB Dream and MyTheatre...

The weird thing is that I only get the "spot" transponders and none of the conus transponders. I think this bit of information is the key to the answer. I think there is an answer there, we just need to find it.
