I have been using MP for about a month. It works great. Thanks everyone for your effort. I have normally had HyperThreading turned off on my P4 that is running TVServer and SQLserver. But I thought I turn it on, so no process can starve all other processes from CPU time. I get som stuttering in playback on the client PC sometimes when the server have high CPU. After I turned HT on, TVserver stops when timeshifting is started. Either from my remote client or manually on the server (from config app). I have searched the forum to try to find out if there is any threading problems. But haven't found anything, could it be any change in Vista sp1? This is not a showstopper for me I only report this because I couldn't find that it was reported earlier. I'm sorry I don't have any logfiles attached but I couldn't see anything special in them. I can get to them later (need to reboot the server to enable HT again and girlfriend is watching TV right now ). Have anyone experienced this behavior before? |

Country: | I'm using the same SVN's (18080) on a P4 with hyperthreading enabled and don't have the timshifting problem, though I do see some stuttering when the CPU runs out of horsepower. I increased the priority for the TVServer last night and my stuttering issue seems to be resolved, but the jury is still out until I've seen a lot more data. I am using XP Pro SP2 as the OS, so that may be a clue when it comes to the hypertrheading issue. |
