Analog tv card problems (1 Viewer)

Hi i'm new to de MP scene

I have my fist htpc for some days and it works great
But i installed a 3 year old tv card to watch tv on my htpc. but when i start mp and my tv i get a error

cannot turn on TV unable to plot graph

Also in winxp when i use the tv card whit Wintv i can only see TV when i click on record

my systeem:
Amd 4200
Win xp sp2
MP 2.3.0
Pinnacle PCTV pro PAL whit tvcard driver v5.9

Need lots more information. Did you just plug in the card and start MP, or did you go into configuration to make sure the card was detected, scan for channels, etc?

Is this with TV2 (in MP itself) or are you using TV Server (TV3)? I assume TV 2 since you provide the MP version and don't mention TV Server.

It looks like your card may only use software encoding, rather than hardware. I am not honestly sure if MP still supports software encoding any more. You may be better off investing in a more recent card that has hardware decoding if that's the case.

In the future for better help, please make sure you tell us as much as you can about your setup, and provide logs (found in the MediaPortal\log directory).

before i used the card:

1: Plug it in and connect whit the tv cable.
2: then i downloaded the lasted drivers.
3: Install the drivers and the install program make a systeem test and it was OK.
4: Wintv scans my regio channel's and i store it to a xml file.
5: In MP setup i open the xml file whit the channel's.
6: Then i start MP and i get the error :s


And i used TV2

mayby is my card to old
what is a very good tv card for analog tv? of digital + analog ( mayby i get digitv in the future)

There are many types of digital TV:
DVB-T : Terrestrial
DVB-S : Satellite
DVB-C : Cable

Get yourself a hardware encoding analogue card (I think your card is SW-based -> works CPU... hard).
My tip:
Hauppauge PVR-150 (cheap and good). Get digital when you get digital
