Every time I see a new release I consider upgrading but always give up because I would like to review any instructions or tips first rather than just start a new install.
Searched time after time but there does not appear to be any basic support
I have seen the advice to stop the TV service in earlier releases but repeated searches do not result in any further information
Do we just download and overwrite with the new release?

The way to upgrade is really simple:

    1. Stop the TV Service
    2. Execute the installer and follow the on-screen instructions

Repeat step 2 on each client.

    Thanks for the help
I feel confident now to let it overwrite

In addition to the advice from @HTPCSourcer you should also:

    (1) Make sure that the internet is accessed when you start the installation (in case the installation procedure wants to download anything). (Yes, I did not do this the first time I tried to install MP!)

    (2) Use the "Run as Administrator" option to run the installation exe.

    (3) When invited to upgrade SQL, decline. This is possibly a controversial recommendation, but the installation always fails for me if I try to upgrade SQL. You can accept the other defaults.

    (4) Reboot when installation is complete. (It is not possible to have too many reboots! :D)
