Is it possible to create Backdrops, ALA Moving Pictures for each artist, such that when entering a folder of an artist, the backdrop changes to that of the artist and leaves the album art as the small thumb?

you gave a link for fanart for currently playing artist
actually there is no way to display artist fanart for currently browsing items in database view
this is because there is no tag for this


you can't use
<texture>\FanArt\Music\#selecteditem.jpg</texture>
because it will change to album name/song name etc.. as you browse the level above the artist
eg.
