I dont know if this is in the proper section. I am new to MediaPortal. I have 6 tuners SiliconDust HDHomerun Prime (2). I have my guide data have channels listed but for instance channel 261 (which by my provider is disney junior) is listed as like channel 300+ encore or something like that how do i make it so the EPG channels match my Cable Provider channels ive tried all sorts of options and im completely lost. I dont want to have it just plop channels together 1-900 i just want the providers channels to be displayed so if i hit a channel number on the remote it goes to the provider channel not this remapped channel number.

I am using the SchedulesDirect plugin for my EPG

Thanks for the help, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I tried searching prior to making this post and found very little information to assist me.

    Hello :)

I dont know if this is in the proper section.
This section is fine, assuming you're using MediaPortal 1.

but for instance channel 261 (which by my provider is disney junior) is listed as like channel 300+ encore or something like that
Do you see MediaPortal listing that channel as 300? ...or rather, is it that you have to press 300 (or whatever it is) on your remote to select that channel?

how do i make it so the EPG channels match my Cable Provider channels
With a CableCARD tuner the default channel numbers should match your cable provider. So, I'm a bit surprised and confused why they apparently wouldn't in your case. As above: to help you I need to know where you're looking or what you're doing that makes you think MP has the wrong channel numbers.

I dont want to have it just plop channels together 1-900
Well, for that you can create channel groups and/or hide the channels you're not interested in. That's what the TV Channels section in TV Server configuration is for:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...ration/TV-Server_Configuration/03_TV_Channels

i just want the providers channels to be displayed so if i hit a channel number on the remote it goes to the provider channel not this remapped channel number.
If you want to be able to do that then please make sure you've unticked the "select channel by index" option in MediaPortal configuration:

Alright this fixed my issue with having the channels being assigned sequentially rather than by the carrier numbers but now for instance channel 261 in the guide says "261 261 Disney Junior" how do i remove the 2nd 261 (its like this for all channels now that they are in proper order)

While i have the attention of someone adept in this program, is there a way to also add channel logos/icons? Trying to make this as similar to WMC as possible E.G. colored guide for movies/sports/cartoons/news with their various color blocks, channel logos (used my channel logos xl for wmc)

Ok not to pile on :D but when i select a show to watch it is saying no free card available when at most only 2 of the 6 tuners are in use (in the HDHR View beta program in kodi different machines) will i have to disable that before MediaPortal properly prioritizes and distributes tuners to clients properly?

It depends how you added those numbers in the first place.

Did you enable the "rename existing channels and logos to new name format" option in the SchedulesDirect plugin, and use a format which has the leading number?
Did you enable the "show channel numbers" option in MediaPortal configuration?
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...nfiguration/22_TV/1_TV_Client#Channel_numbers

You should only do one of those things.

Of course. In short, you need to acquire logo files, name them to match the names of your channels, and put them in the MediaPortal logos folder (default c:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\tv\logos).

Yes, you can have a coloured guide if (and only if!) your guide data contains program category/genre information.
In TV Server configuration you map the program categories in your guide data to those MediaPortal recognises:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...Server_Configuration/05_DVB_EPG/EPG_Genre_Map

...and then enable colouring in MediaPortal configuration:

P.S. We don't mind answering questions here on the forum, but it does get a bit tedious providing the same answers over and over again. Especially when the answers are already available in our wiki. So, please use the wiki and forum search functions. If you find the wiki is lacking on any subjects, you can help to improve it. :)

I can't answer this question without knowing why MediaPortal is giving you that response, and I can't know why MediaPortal is giving you that response without log files.
So, please use the watchdog tool with option 1 to reproduce the problem:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/16_Support/3_Forums/2_Log_Files

...then post/attach ("upload a file") the zip file that it produces for you.

I tried sifting through the wiki it seemed to be a bit overwhelming? or maybe just not intuitive enough for me to actually find the information i was looking for. I apologize for this.

I never "added" channels i just did the whole scan on the tuners then got the sd plugin ill have to sift through the features and see what does what i spose
