It looks like you're not closing down MP cleanly:

You have to close stuff down cleanly, otherwise expect open files to have the possibility of being corrupted.
I'm saying it has nothing to do with the TV service and everything to do with how you're going into standby. Maybe I'm wrong as I'm not an expert with stuff, but that is my read on it.If you are saying that I should be stopping the TV service, going back to MP home and then pressing standby - that is what I do every time. I'm very careful to do this, I dont even Standby with TV service on. I think if you can see any examples of a reset whilst in use (non clean close), I'd only do that if if there is a screen freeze/crash.
I agree there... but not necessarily your MP config. This happens too often to me. There must be something not right with my config.
Point is that there shouldn't be a need for it.I'm no programmer but is there no way of having a 'fall back' DB.
I don't know how a Sky box works, but PCs are not Sky boxes and with all due respect you can't treat them that way. There is a procedure for recovering SQLite databases... but again I don't think this should be happening if you've configured power management properly. Why not lock the DB and having a copy DB being used as live and thus any corruption you could automatically go back to original copy. How would the likes of Sky Box deal with a sudden power off?
