I use Windows XP Pro. If I save the album art as a folder thumb, this is saved as a .jpg file.
This is great if I use only the Thumbnail folder view. If I use any other view, this image is superfluos (ie. it's missing). I understand the reason why, but there is a way around this, but that causes issues as this application ignores system folders.
I use this approach frequently, to make folder identification easier:
In the folder I create a file named desktop.ini
contents are:
[.ShellClassInfo]
IconFile=foldera.ico
IconIndex=0
InfoTip="place a tooltip a comment here"
if this folder has it's system attribute set on, then the icon is seen in every type of folder view.
Not sure how this works in Vista - but as I'm not supposed to be rude and offensive I won't pass on my thoughts about vista.
