Hi,

At first: GREAT WORK! MP is really impressing!!! I am running MP in a multi seat enviroment. On the client PC no tv card and no tvserver is installed.

I have the problem that if the pc with tvserver is not running, a mediaportal process keeps hanging after I close mediaportal. The same happens with configuration.exe. These problems do not occur if I don’t activate the tvserver client plugin.

What also causes problems is if the pc with the tvserver goes to sleep while mediaportal is running on my client pc. This happens in my setup if the tvserver is recording something, the recording time ends and the power Scheduler plugin of tvserver moves the pc into standby. If mediaportal is running on my client pc during this event, mediaportal completely hangs. I can only kill the process with the task manager.

As my pc with the tvserver is not running most of the time I would love to get this issue solved!

Regards
Dieter

Do you have the powrschedular plugin setup in both server and client ?

Is the 'only allow standby in home' for the client not set/working ?

I use the power Scheduler only on the server. For me the plugin behaves correct - no problem on the server side. Only the running mediaportal client does not like it, if the server pc goes to standby.

You need the client powerschedular set up so as to poll to the server that it is active which halts the server from standby/hibernation.

Check the plugins section in the MP config

    Hi,

    SciDoctor
I activated the powerscheduler client plugin now but it did not help - at least I could not find any setting that works.
I found this thread dealing with the same problem:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/po...em-t22721.html
This solution works now but is not really nice. Is there a different possibility with powerscheduler client plugin?

Concerning my other point with the hanging processes:
I now found out that the processes do close on the client also if the server is not running if I wait a while. It just takes approx 20 seconds. This is about the same time mp hangs during startup at "Loading window plugins". Maybe there is a timeout which can be reduced if the server is not running.

    Regards
    Dieter

    Hi,
If you have enabled Power Scheduler client in MP Configuration -> Plugins -> Power Scheduler Client & enabled the default values like "only allow standby in home" it should be fine.

About the process for now thats by design, maybe something will change later dunno.

    Regards

    Hi,

thanks for the help but in my multi seat setup this does not work. I enabled extensive logging on server side and printed the tv.log every 10 sec in a file. The result was that there is no event if I start mp on the client. Only if I start watching tv, an event occurs.
(see logfile below; I started MP on client at approx 22:01.25 - no event there; lastUserTime just indicates my last mouseMove-event on the server; At 22:02:52 I started watching tv on the client, 5 sec later I stopped watching tv).

For me also the GUI of PowerScheduler Client Configuration is very unclear. Why should I let the server go to standby in a multi seat if a client is logged on. Also in home-Screen this does not make sence if mp on the client freezes if the server goes into standby. Or is this a bug that should not occur?

    Regards
    Dieter
