KNC1 TV-Station DVB-S2 Twin won´t find SKY HD Programs (1 Viewer)

Hi,

using MediaPortal 1.1.3 with a KNC1 TV-Station DVB-S2 Twin the german SKY HD programs cannot be found. Using another card like the tt3200 brings up those programs.
Using other software (e.g. DVBLink) bings up the programs with the KNC1

Anybody any idea?

kind regards
Bernd

Please post your TV Server logs showing the failure to scan/view with the KNC1 tuner.

    Thanks :)

    Ahh... I see the problem.
The KNC tuner seems to have a problem tuning transponders with FEC rate of 9/10. :(
    The log shows:

I´m not too sure that the tuner is the problem, since with other tv-software the sky hd channel are found and watchable.
Might be a problem with the tuner with mediaportal.

I even tried the card in 4 (1!) different pcs with Win7 32/64 bit.

    Hi again

Might be a problem with the tuner with mediaportal.

If it works in DVBViewer then it is *definitely* a problem with MediaPortal (TV Server). We will have to contact the KNC support team to ask them how to fix this. Hopefully we will hear back quickly...

    Thanks for your patience. :)

It might also be a driver problem? I thought I saw a thread about someone running this card in MP.

I could setup a test-system with this card and give access to the developers if wanted.

It is not a driver problem if it works in DVBViewer but not in MediaPortal. The same driver is used in both MediaPortal and DVBViewer...

To be *very* clear: this is a MediaPortal (TV Server) problem.

A technical explanation of the problem might help you to understand. Briefly, the problem is that TV Server is not able to make the KNC tuner tune to transponders with inner FEC rate (code rate) of 9/10. This is because we don't know how to send instructions to the driver properly. It is not a problem with the driver - it is just that we don't know how to tell the driver what to do. We have to contact the KNC developers to find out how to do that.

Obviously we want to fix this problem as quickly as possible. We have already sent an email to KNC, but we haven't received a response yet.

BTW: it may interest you to know that the KNC tuner does not list support for the 9/10 code rate (the specifications are here).

OK, thanks a lot for the detailed infos, I´ll try to be patient ;-)
I do have the other KNC1 DVB-S2 Board (dingle) where tech specs says the same (no support for 9/10) but this one works with MP with a satelco or Mystique driver. (SAA7146)
Should have bought the Tevii .... ;-)
