I have just installed MediaPortal on a second system, using a Hauppauge HD PVR. Everything seemed to go well. I also replaced the TVLibrary.dll and TVLibraryInterfaces.dll that ship with MP with the ones sent to me by MM for the HD PVR. When I turn on TV, I get a message "No free card".

I have attached the Watchdog diagnostic logs.

Also...channels in my EPG are not sorted.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Patrick

    Hi Patrick

Make sure you only replace for TV Server. You should not do any replacement for MediaPortal.

When I turn on TV, I get a message "No free card".
That's because you haven't linked your channels to the HD-PVR:

The attached screenshot shows that I have mapped my channels to the HD PVR.

    Hmmmm.

DVCBCN was not mapped/linked to the HD-PVR at the time you performed this test. I don't know if the situation is still the same.

I have been able to deal with the "No free card" issue...mostly. MP does not always recognize my HD PVR. When it does, I'm getting "program/channel not found."
This behaviour is similar to a problem I was experiencing several weeks ago on my other MP system where there were issues with the IP address. I have attached my most recent Watchdog diagnostic dump.

For an HD-PVR (or Colossus), "program/channel not found" often means that the inputs that your channels are requesting are incorrect.

The log files tell me that your channels are configured for the s-video and S/PDIF inputs. Does that match what you've connected to your HD-PVR?

[edit: The other thing that message can mean is that the HD-PVR is not receiving input from the thing you've connected to it (eg. set top box, gaming console...). Please check that too.]

The HD PVR displays without issues when I use the utility that shipped with it (i.e., TotalMedia EXtreme). Can I configure the inputs within MP?

In your case you'd configure them on the advanced options tab in the SchedulesDirect plugin. If the current settings are incorrect then you'll probably have to delete all channels so that the SD plugin can recreate them with correct settings. After that you'll have to map the channels to the HD-PVR again.

I changed the settings in the SD plugin and remapped the channels. I still get:
    - "no free card" when I just turn on TV
    - "program/channel not found" when I attempt to access the channel through the guide.

I have also connected my HD PVR to a different USB port.

I have attached the newest Watchdog dump.

    Hello again Patrick

I changed the settings in the SD plugin and remapped the channels. I still get:
    ...
    - "program/channel not found" when I attempt to access the channel through the guide.
It looks like your channels are still configured to use S-video and S/PDIF:
    [2015-03-27 16:18:42,135] [Log ] [13 ] [DEBUG] - card: user: kpatch:3:-1 tune tv:212 CFTO Freq:0 Channel:212 Country:United States Tuner:Cable Video:confused:vhsInput1 Audio:confused:PDIFInput1

Like I said in my previous post: you have to delete all channels so that the SD plugin can recreate them with the correct settings. Simply changing the settings in the SD plugin won't make any difference.

    - "no free card" when I just turn on TV
I see this again with DVBCN:

It's like you haven't changed anything at all.

I have also connected my HD PVR to a different USB port.
Okay... but that won't make any difference.
