[solved] MP won't start anymore (1 Viewer)

Hello guys

Since a couple of days, MP 1.8 won't start anymore. Same for MP config. Nothing happens when I start it. Titan skin config, moving pictures and tv series config also crash but with the error attached.
Only tv server config starts correctly.

Nothing changed since 3 or 4 days when it worked except Windows updates. Tried a Windows system restore to a few weeks before but no luck...

Antivirus scan reported nothing except a few cookies.
Also tried to upgrade to 1.9.

any idea ?

edit : oh and starting debug mode with watchdog also crashes !

Yeah, it's a pain when this happens.
I take it the automatic backup file was also corrupt?
Doesn't hurt to take a manual backup of that file every now and again.

The backup file was the original one I think, all settings were default.
I've installed the BackupSettings extension so it doesn't happen again.

Root cause?

Usually file corruption is a sign that the system wasn't shut down cleanly. For example, maybe you had a BSOD, power loss, etc. I've also seen similar sorts of issues for people that use MP-Sync.
If you're saying that you had no such problem then it would be helpful to have log files and details of the date/time when the problem occurred.

I don't think I had a power failure, crash or unclean shutdown either. The only thing I can think of is the win8.1 updates. I hope it's not that because there would be a lot of users impacted !

I have noticed the restart was incl. A BSOD, and I am running mpsync. Unfortunately have logs......cleaned them and trued to collect then, when I had the problem. But only files was generated.......no content:-(
